Scrapbooks Are A Creative Way To Bring Friends Together

Everyone has stacks of photographs lying in drawers and envelopes that we promise ourselves will be put in books, yet we never quite get around to it. Scrap booking is a great way to organize photos and use creativity. It is an easy and fun hobby to do, especially when you get family and friends involved.

There is tons of information available for the beginner, but some of the instructions are rather complicated and the supplies can be expensive if purchased in kits. The funniest way to learn this hobby is to use your imagination.

Imagination is key in making exciting and unique albums. For example if you have a picture of your three year old riding a big wheel, adding a cut out of a black helmet will make the photo have a funny depth to it. Using out of the ordinary items is the perfect way to add flair to ordinary photos.

Get your family and friends involved by hosting a party. Send invitations inviting all of your friends to bring a scrapbook album, the pictures of a specific holiday and odds and ends that can be used for decorating. For example, you could suggest it be a Christmas follow up party and the requirements are for the guests to only bring photos of the previous Christmas.

To make the party fair for everyone, make the amount of photos a specific amount per guest. Instruct them to bring the photos they do not like as well as their favorites from the birthday in question. If guests report they do not have any items to bring, suggest that you all meet at a hobby shop to gather items together.

Once everyone is at the shop set limitations on how much to spend and what should be purchased. For example have each guest pick out five different scrapbooking papers and two different packages of decorations. When you return home everyone will combine their purchases as a free for all in decorating. Have the guests pick a name at random and their assigned name will be whose album they create using the pictures the person has brought.

Including others in this creative hobby will make for fun get together. Have a different theme each week and remember to rotate names for each book. It will be fun to look at your collection of photos when at the end of the month you have had four different friends create a photo album for you. The more guests you invite to your weekly photo parties, the more creativity you have in your albums.
