There are many places to get scrapbooking supplies but finding quality ones can be difficult. I have spent many years doing scrapbooks and have a few techniques I use for tracking down quality scrapbooking supplies. I want to share those with you so read on if you are interested.

The first thing you need for a good scrapbook is the actual book. Most people will use any old photo album lying around, but for me I am trying to create something that my kids, grandkids and beyond will be able to look at. This scrapbook will be an insight into who I am and the scrapbooking supplies I use should support that. My first stop for finding a scrapbook is any local antique or oddity shop. These shops offer unique bound books that you can convert into scrapbooks, or old leather photo albums that work really well also.
Once you have selected the book, you now need to find your scrapbooking supplies. I recommend shopping locally as it will give you a chance to pick up and examine the items before purchase. There are many hobby and craft stores that you can use that carry a variety of scrapbooking supplies. Again, it is best to go to these local places because when you order online you are never quite sure as to what you are going to get. Most of these web sites will try to make their products look as good as possible, sometimes to the point of exaggeration. I have found that scrapbooking stickers are notorious for being misrepresented online, so know your dealer before you purchase.
If you know exactly what you want then shopping online is far less risky. You can sometimes purchase items in bulk for far cheaper online than in a store so doing some research and window shopping can prove to be very profitable. I know in my case I like to collect as many different scrapbooking supplies as I can so that if I need to adjust or change things mid project I will have the materials I need.
